Seolh (2024) is a dance-theater piece inspired by the Scottish myth of the selkie, half woman, half seal, choreographed and directed by Thryn Saxon with an original score by composer Bre Short.
In the spirit of folklore traditions, Seolh is a customizable work, designed to be passed down from one cast to another through cross-community collaborations, merging local professionals or university dancers with company members from SAXYN Dance Works.
This model was first achieved at The Moss Center in Miami, FL in 2025 where three Miami dancers and 4 NYC dancers crafted the first community-integrated performances of Seolh.
We would love to bring Seolh to your city or university! Booking options include:
Cross-community collaboration with local professional dancers (3 dancers)
Cross-community collaboration with university students (up to 9 dancers)
Setting entire work on professional dancers (8 dancers)
Presenting SAXYN Dance Works (8 dancers - including AD - + 1 SM)
